Unsubscribe The car amplifier doesn’t provide a signal to the sub I have the most perplexing of issues at hand, and I don’t know where else to turn to but here. My sister’s car — namely, the car’s sub amplifier — is giving me all sorts of sass. I’m trying to diagnose it from a world away she’s in Tennessee, I’m in California and it just does not want to work properly. A bit of background: It powered on briefly the yellow LED on the amp itself turned on, but not the green LED on the subwoofer level controller , but turned off as soon as she hooked up to sub And then it never powered back on again. So after some brief multi-metering, we chalk it up to a bad amp and she orders this Boss amp from Amazon. Yesterday the amp arrived, and we’re back to square one.

Features Good looks; relatively compact size for a Wpc power amp; year warranty Use Special speaker binding posts make connecting spade-terminated speaker cables an uncertain proposition. We expect this term to imply faster, stronger and more efficient. But what does it mean to us audiophiles? A not altogether improper analogy can be made to racing.
In my 20s, I fell in love with sport motorcycles, so much so that I decided to try my skill in the club-level road-racing scene.
Dec 29, · Wow, I am really taking a liking to your replacement bumpers. Originally I was looking to stay with the factory set up, add an N-Fab pre-runner bumper bar and 3 HID lights and a pair of the Rigid LED Dually Fogs in the factory bumper opening.
The input stage is biased so that the supply voltage is divided equally across the two complimentary output transistors which are slightly biased in conduction by the diodes between the bases. As the bias current increases, the voltage between the emitter and base decreases, thus reducing the conduction. Input impedance is about ohms and voltage gain is about 5 with an 8 ohm speaker attached.
The voltage swing on the speaker is about 2 volts without distorting and power output is in the 50 milliwatt range. A higher supply voltage and the addition of heat sinks to the output transistors would provide more power. Circuit draws about 30 milliamps from a 9 volt supply. Menu Improved 3 Transistor Audio Amp 80 milliwatt This circuit is similar to the one above but uses positive feedback to get a little more amplitude to the speaker.
I copied it from a small 5 transistor radio that uses a 25 ohm speaker. This has a disadvantage in that as the output moves positive, the drop across the ohm resistor decreases which reduces the base current to the top NPN transistor. This circuit corrects the problem somewhat and allows a larger voltage swing and probably more output power, but I don’t know how much without doing a lot of testing. The output still won’t move more than a couple volts using small transistors since the peak current won’t be more than mA or so into a 25 ohm load.
But it’s an improvement over the other circuit above. In this circuit, the 1K load resistor is tied to the speaker so that as the output moves negative, the voltage on the 1K resistor is reduced, which aids in turning off the top NPN transistor.

August 29, So… you just want to light up an LED. What resistor should you use? Maybe you know the answer, or maybe everyone already assumes that you should know how to get to the answer. What kind of LED are you using? Part of a larger circuit? Playing with LEDs is supposed to be fun, and figuring out the answers to these questions is actually part of the fun.
But how do you know what numbers to plug into that formula to get out the right resistor value? To get the V in our formula, we need to know two things: Lets start with a concrete example. Standard red, orange, yellow and yellow-green LEDs have a Vf of about 1. So, the voltage drop from our yellow LED will be about 1. The next thing we need to know is the I, which is current we want to drive the LED at.

You can have a power supply rated for 5V at 1 billion Amps. Now say you attach a resistor to this supply, lets say 5 Ohms. How much current will it draw? The answer is a. Therefore, if you have a 5V supply across a 5 Ohm resistor, you get 1A current flowing? But what happened to the other million or so Amps?
Plug in the power cord for the amplifier. When an audio source is played back through the amp, the small electrical pulse is relayed both to the speakers and the LEDs.
I need to hook up my lincoln ac stick welder riverking05 Hello. It is possible to use that Buzzbox on you dryer outlet. On low to medium power settings you will not draw more that 30 amps, and the outlet wires will never know the difference. At higher amps, the breaker will trip and protect the circuit, thats what its there for. I used mine that way for years when living in an apartment.
For occasional light use this should be ok. That said, it is best to get a dedicated 50 amp line run. I took advantage in my new home to have the electrician run a amp sub panel to the garage which allows me to add extra v dedicated lines for my chopsaw, grinder etc, and not have to run back inside because someone decided to make toast while I was working and the breaker tripped. In this I also have v lines for the welders, compressor or anything I want later.
A gen set is a poor choice usually to run the machine, unless you already have one. Often they require some work to get them up and running, but can be a fun project in themselves.

How to Hook Up a Graphic Equalizer to a Preamp by James Clark A preamp processes signals from audio components, then passes them along to a power amplifier that drives the speaker system. An equalizer connected to a preamp allows the user to adjust the sound across a broad spectrum of audio frequencies to suit individual tastes, typically by setting individual slide controls on the equalizer.
Connecting the two components takes less than a minute with a standard set of audio cables 1 Insert the plugs on one end of the audio cables into the “OUT to EQ” jacks on the back of the preamp, using the white plug for the left audio jack and the red plug for the right audio jack. Use the same white and red color codes to match plugs with jacks. Tip Press the “Bypass” button on the preamp EQ loop to connect the preamp directly with the amplifier. Press the button again to connect the preamp to the equalizer for adjusting the audio.
